How Your Taxonomy Can Support Your Knowledge Management
Heather Hedden has been doing taxonomy work for over 25 years for various employers and as a consultant. She previously worked as a taxonomist at Semantic Web Company, Gale, Viziant, First Wind, Project Performance Corporation and Cengage. Heather has designed and developed, taxonomies, thesauri, ontologies and metadata schema for both internal and externally published content, helping make content more findable by users.
Heather is currently employed by Enterprise Knowledge LLC as a senior consultant, providing taxonomy design and related knowledge management services to varied clients. Meanwhile, through her own business, Hedden Information Management, Heather continues to teach taxonomy creation workshops in various formats for individuals and corporate groups. Heather is a frequent conference presenter and is author of the book "The Accidental Taxonomist" and writes regularly for her blog of the same name.
