Tim Flower has worked in enterprise IT for over 35 years, starting his career at Digital Equipment in Connecticut in 1988, supporting some of the largest EUC environments in Connecticut like Aetna, United Technologies, GTE, and The Hartford. He then moved to The Hartford in 1995 where he held various leadership positions in end-user-compute, creating the first Desktop Engineering team, and bolstering the Help Desk’s ability to support distributed computing expansion.

After becoming a Nexthink customer in 2013, he joined Nexthink as an employee in 2015 and for almost 10 years has helped businesses large and small around the world understand the power of visibility and proactive IT across the enterprise. His core focus is demonstrating how IT teams can change the way they think, operate, and view their employees’ technology consumption, update their delivery and support models to deliver better service, and ultimately drive better outcomes at lower cost.

As the VP of DEX Strategy at Nexthink, Tim contributes articles to publications like APM Digest, CIO.com, and IT Pro Today, and has presented at ServiceNow Knowledge, Gartner Symposium and Digital Workplace Summit, JAMF JNUC, as well as Nexthink events like Masters of Experience and their yearly Experience conference held in Boston and London.

He is the co-host of the DEX Show Podcast (Digital Employee Experience), a show dedicated to technology and change-management professionals interested in improving the way we work.

He is the author of the Wiley book: DEX for Dummies, a Practical Guide for Organizing and Executing an Effective DEX Strategy in Any Organization, and is active on LinkedIn and YouTube under the handle @TheProactiveITGuy. He is currently working on a second book which chronicles the journey from reactive to proactive IT, highlighting how others can achieve enterprise value for both IT teams and the businesses that they support.

He recently built his dream house in the Pocono Mountains of Penn. and spends his time exploring local towns and off-road trails in his Jeep, enjoying cross-country rides on his Harley, and slowly improving his woodworking skills. He has two adult children, his son living in Boston and his daughter and son-in-law in Philly raising their little girl.

He’s a lifelong Red Sox and New York Giants fan (which is legal coming from Connecticut), is a huge sci-fi fan, and still loves a good Star Wars Lego project from time to time.
