Anthropic introduces plugins to Claude Cowork, with 11 open-source plugins available at launch to customize Cowork workflows.

In Brief

  • Cowork now supports plugins for workflow customization.
  • Eleven pre-built, open-source plugins span key business functions.
  • Leaders and admins can tailor Claude to streamline team processes and reduce manual oversight.

Anthropic launched plugin support for Claude Cowork on Jan. 30, so users can customize workflows and integrate specialized tools. The plugins bundle skills, connectors, slash commands and sub-agents so people can use Cowork as a specialist for specific roles, teams and companies.

Users can install plugins from Cowork, upload custom plugins or build new ones using Plugin Create, one of the launch plugins. They are file-based and also available on GitHub. Org-wide sharing and private marketplace support are in the works, according to the company.

The feature is available as a research preview for all paid Claude users. Anthropic says plugins help teams achieve more consistent outcomes while reducing administrative overhead.

Cowork Launches With 11 Available Plugins

  2. Enterprise search — Find information across company tools and documents
  3. Marketing — Draft content, plan campaigns, manage launches

Anthropic's 2025–2026 Expansion

San Francisco-based Anthropic experienced explosive growth through 2025 and early 2026, securing $13 billion in funding in September 2025 and raising its 2026 revenue forecast by 20% to $18 billion in January 2026. Revenue more than doubled to a $9 billion run rate by year-end 2025.

Anthropic rapidly expanded Claude's capabilities, introducing persistent memory in September 2025 and launching Cowork as a research preview on Jan. 12, 2026. Platform integrations included Google Workspace in April 2025 and Asana on Jan. 26, 2026.

Enterprise AI Extensibility: Market Trends

Enterprise AI adoption accelerated in 2025 as organizations shifted from assistive features to autonomous workflows. In June, KPMG reported AI agent pilots nearly doubled in one quarter, while Gartner predicted that by 2028, 33% of enterprise software will include agentic AI, up from less than 1% in 2024.

However, while 79% of enterprises report experimentation with agentic AI, only 8.6% have agents running in full production as of mid-2025, with most stuck in pilot mode.
