Teams can now create and manage Asana projects directly within Anthropic's AI assistant.

Asana announced a new Claude integration on Jan. 26, that lets teams convert plans formed in the AI assistant into structured projects without leaving the chat interface.

The connection allows users to query Asana timelines, generate projects and create tasks directly within Anthropic's Claude, with real-time synchronization between the two platforms. The integration targets teams already using Claude for strategic planning and brainstorming.

How the Claude Integration Works

According to the company, set up is easy once your admin has given you access. Within the Claude chat, clicking the plus sign on the lower left will reveal available integrations, as seen below.

Once the integration is on, users can get started. The company provided a number of scenarios and prompts for inspiration, including showing how Claude can break down a Microsoft Word document into a structured action plan in Asana. When the task is complete, a link to the live project appears to allow for review and edits.

Suggested prompts move beyond translating information from one format to another, to include Claude reasoning through tasks such as, "Use Asana to assign all design tasks in this project to the Design team based on their usual responsibilities."

Asana: Leadership Transition and AI-Driven Growth

Asana underwent a major leadership overhaul in 2025 while demonstrating strong financial momentum. Co-founder Dustin Moskovitz announced his intention to step down as CEO in March, with Dan Rogers — previously of LaunchDarkly, Rubrik and ServiceNow — taking the helm in July. Moskovitz remains involved with the company in the role of Chair of the Board of Directors.

The company appointed former Okta CPO Arnab Bose as Chief Product Officer in September, while COO Anne Raimondi and General Counsel Eleanor Lacey resigned effective December 31. Separately, Rebecca Hinds, who led Asana's Work Innovation Lab, joined Glean in July to head the newly launched Work AI Institute.

The leadership changes coincided with consecutive quarters of revenue beats and Asana's first positive non-GAAP operating margin. The company exceeded revenue guidance in Q1 FY 2026, with AI Studio surpassing $1 million in annualized recurring revenue in its first quarter of general availability.

Asana raised full-year guidance again in Q2 after launching the Smart Workflow Gallery, then unveiled AI Teammates — context-aware collaborative agents — in Q3 while once more lifting revenue projections.

AI-Powered Work Management: Key Trends

Large language models are reshaping how enterprises organize and execute work, merging project management with collaboration into unified operating systems.

Recent analysis shows boundaries between project management and collaboration tools have dissolved, creating environments where conversations become action items and knowledge surfaces when needed.

Organizations are shifting from assistive AI features to autonomous workflows. Leading platforms including Asana, Jira and Microsoft Project have integrated AI in project management capabilities offering sophisticated insights and workflow optimization.
