In Brief
- Simpplr launches Comms AI for internal communications teams.
- Campaign planning, approvals and delivery consolidated in one platform.
- Internal communicators gain time for strategy as admin tasks decrease.
Simpplr announced the launch of Comms AI, an AI-native workspace designed for internal communications teams, on Feb. 3. The platform consolidates campaign planning, content creation, approvals and multichannel delivery into a single system that integrates with Simpplr's existing intranet and publishing channels including email, Slack and Teams.
What's Inside Comms AI
Simpplr positions Comms AI as a solution to alleviate the administrative work that eats into communicators' limited time. "Internal communicators are being asked to operate like a media company with very little budget or headcount support," said Dhiraj Sharma, CEO and founder of Simpplr in the press release.
Comms AI is distinct from standalone AI tools by embedding intelligence directly into the workflow. By providing a single platform for internal comms to operate out of, the company hopes to alleviate some of the frustration and confusion caused when jumping between work apps.
| Capabilities | Description |
|---|---|
| Campaign Planning | Builds structured plans from goals or notes, suggests audiences and timelines |
| Content Adaptation | Adjusts voice and format based on channel and audience context |
| Approval Workflows | Centralizes feedback and tracks changes in one workspace |
| Multichannel Delivery | Publishes to intranet, email, Slack and Teams |
| Context Awareness | Maintains campaign context across all workflow steps |
The platform includes a template library with pre-vetted campaign structures that improve over time with context from successful messaging and content.
Recent Simpplr Developments
Simpplr built momentum in 2025 through customer success and market recognition. Gartner named Simpplr a Leader in its 2025 Magic Quadrant for Intranet Packaged Solutions for the third consecutive year, while the company earned a Leader position in IDC's 2025 MarketScape for Integrated Employee Workspaces.
The company also won Gold in the Excellence in Employee Intranet & Communication Platforms category at the 2025 Reworked IMPACT Awards, highlighting a customer implementation where a global software company achieved a 95% adoption rate and 20% increase in employee efficiency after replacing their homegrown system.
The company expanded its AI-powered platform throughout 2025. In March, it launched Simpplr Enterprise Search, positioning it as the first AI-powered enterprise search fully integrated within an intranet. Simpplr launched Custom Apps the same month, an integration framework to help customers bring data from disparate business tools directly into intranet dashboards.
The vendor completed a Workday Design Badge integration in July and partnered with Moveworks in October.
Intranets Evolve to Meet Internal Comms' Needs
Internal communications technology has shifted over the years from static intranets and basic email toward AI-powered, multi-channel platforms that aim to reach employees wherever they work. Modern solutions now integrate with collaboration tools like Microsoft Teams and Slack while delivering coordinated campaigns through newsletters, digital signage, mobile apps and personalized podcasts from a central hub.
Integrating AI into intranets presents challenges however, including aligning IT, HR, legal and communications teams around AI strategy. Existing issues further exacerbate the difficulties, including outdated content, disconnected systems and weak governance structures.
