Udemy strikes dual AI deals to deliver skills content inside ChatGPT and Glean as corporate training shifts from standalone platforms to workplace tools.

Udemy entered two partnerships this week to embed its skills content in the flow of work. The integrations, one with OpenAI's ChatGPT and the other with enterprise AI platform Glean, deliver adaptive learning directly within conversational AI and workplace workflows, rather than pushing workers to a separate platform.

The ChatGPT app provides access to more than 290,000 courses from 90,000 instructors. OpenAI is making the app available to logged-in ChatGPT users across Free, Go, Plus and Pro plans on a rolling basis starting Feb. 11, initially in English with subtitle support.

The Glean partnership uses Udemy's Model Context Protocol Server to surface role-aligned Udemy Business content inside AI agents and enterprise search experiences. Glean adds additional context based on its rich understanding of individuals and the enterprise to the more than 30,000 Udemy business courses available to support learners develop personalized learning paths. The integration is available to customers of both platforms.

Udemy's 2025 Expansion Strategy

Between July and December 2025, Udemy executed an aggressive expansion strategy centered on AI-powered learning integration, culminating in a $2.5 billion all-stock merger agreement with Coursera announced on Dec. 17, 2025. The combined entity projects annual revenue exceeding $1.5 billion, with the transaction expected to close by the second half of 2026.

In July 2025, Udemy launched its Model Context Protocol Server to integrate learning content directly into AI workplace tools including Claude and ChatGPT. The company expanded its AI capabilities through multiple strategic partnerships in Q4 2025, including a Dec. 11 collaboration with Workera that combined AI-powered skills verification with expert-led learning.

Udemy's Q3 2025 subscription revenue rose 8% year-over-year to $143.9 million. Leadership changes included the appointment of Hugo Sarrazin as CEO in March 2025.

L&D Evolves With AI

Corporate learning and development is shifting from traditional, structured training programs toward AI-driven approaches that deliver personalized content in real time. As organizations respond to new workforce expectations and technological capabilities, L&D teams are transitioning from content creation to curation, AI training and performance consulting — a change that may reduce the need for large instructional design teams as AI systems handle personalized learning at scale.

Conversational AI is further accelerating this evolution by embedding training directly into workplace tools, allowing employees to access targeted learning without leaving their daily workflows.
