ThriveDX SaaS Expands Security Training Portfolio with Kontra Acquisition
ThriveDX SaaS, a workplace cybersecurity and digital skills-based training platform, has announced the acquisition of Kontra Application Security Training. ThriveDX SaaS is the software-as-a-service arm of Coral Gables, Fla.-based ThriveDX.
Kontra will become a Thrive SaaS division, and is ThriveDX SaaS’ first acquisition. Formerly known as Cybint Solutions, ThriveDX SaaS was acquired by ThriveDX in August 2021 for a reported $50 million.
"Kontra’s ability to empower developers with the tools necessary to patch vulnerabilities and ensure data security as software is created directly aligns with our own values, which is to empower employees, workforces, professionals and more with the tools to be successful in their cybersecurity endeavors," said Roy Zur, CEO of ThriveDX SaaS.
Demand for Secure Coding Skills
ThriveDX SaaS is focused on DevSecOps, the practice of embedding security into software development from the beginning. Zur said enterprises have an increasing need for secure coding skills and expertise amidst widespread digital transformation.
"The addition of Kontra is a strong and complementary fit with ThriveDX SaaS’s current platform, which offers employers a cost-effective way to train and upskill their employees to meet the demands of the digital economy," he said. In addition to acquiring Kontra, an application security solution designed by developers for developers, ThriveDX saw the benefit of expanding its team and market.
"We will integrate Kontra into both our corporate portfolio for upskilling industry developers and our education portfolio," Zur said. "Students and academics are a big part of what the firm does and Kontra is also being positioned to introduce defensive coding concepts to university students, early in their computer science and security careers."
