In Brief
- Workday Learning, powered by Sana, is now generally available. It becomes the standard offering for new Workday customers. Existing Workday Learning customers can continue using their current product.
- Sana components aren't yet available in certain regulated and sovereign deployments. Those customers remain on Workday Learning.
- Sana Learn is available as a standalone for organizations that don't use Workday HCM or Financial Management.
Workday moved another Sana product out of preview this week. Workday Learning, powered by Sana, is now generally available — eight months after Workday closed its $1.1 billion acquisition of the AI-native learning and knowledge platform.
The release makes the Sana-powered version the default for new customers. Existing Workday Learning customers can stay on the current product, a Workday spokesperson confirmed. Customers in environments with legal, security or data-location requirements Sana doesn't yet support — including certain regulated and sovereign deployments — will also continue on Workday Learning under existing product guidance.
In the announcement, Workday reported early customers have seen up to a 98% reduction in content creation time and three times higher learner engagement.
The company didn't disclose pricing for either option, stating it works with customers directly on packaging based on workforce size, deployment scope and services required. The Sana integration brings an AI tutor that coaches learners, tools to turn static files into interactive courses, translation into "dozens" of languages and automated assignment and compliance workflows. Because Sana is now integrated in the HR system, administrators can measure programs against skills development, internal mobility, performance and retention, rather than just completion rates.
The launch is the latest public release since the acquisition. In March, Workday rolled out Sana from Workday, a conversational interface with 300-plus HR and finance skills that replaces the platform's traditional menus. Co-founder Aneel Bhusri, who returned as CEO in February, called that release Workday's "chapter four." Workday Learning is the next Sana component to replace a standalone Workday products for new customers.
