Zoom expands its workplace suite by adding interview intelligence tools designed to streamline talent acquisition.

In Brief

  • Zoom acquires BrightHire to add AI-driven interview tools.
  • BrightHire enhances interview planning, insights and process efficiency.
  • HR and talent leaders gain improved data-driven hiring within Zoom's platform.

Zoom announced the acquisition of BrightHire, an AI-powered hiring intelligence platform, to integrate interview tools into its Zoom Workplace offering. The deal, announced Nov. 13, is expected to close in the coming weeks.

Company officials said the acquisition is intended to strengthen hiring workflows by adding AI-driven interview planning, automated insights and data-supported decision making. BrightHire currently serves hundreds of enterprises including Canva, Duolingo and Instacart, to improve hiring outcomes.

AI’s Expanding Role in Talent Acquisition

AI is accelerating across talent acquisition as organizations look for tools that connect workforce planning to business performance while navigating evolving regulatory demands.

The HR technology sector has seen consolidation and strong investment momentum, with SAP acquiring SmartRecruiters in August 2025 and HR tech vendors raising $3.5 billion in the first half of 2025, according to industry reports. The activity mirrors rising demand for AI recruitment technologies that improve efficiency and candidate quality.

Zoom's BrightHire acquisition reflects a wider market push to use AI to support, rather than replace, human interactions in workplace processes such as recruitment.

Regulatory and Human Oversight Challenges

Significant hurdles remain. Research shows 76% of job seekers expect humans to recognize their potential, and regulatory scrutiny is increasing as jurisdictions adopt requirements such as mandatory bias audits for AI hiring tools.

Organizations deploying these systems must balance automation with clear human oversight to maintain trust and compliance.

New Features for Zoom Workplace

The acquisition means a number of new features integrated within Zoom Workplace:
